Improving bit by bit
Micro habits - a sustainable path to lasting improvement#
As a parent to a toddler, a homeowner and someone with a demanding day-job I’ve been struggling with establishing new habits as they usually end up feeling insurmountable. After chatting a bit with a friendly LLM I started looking into micro habits, even asking for a few suggestions to get a better feeling for what it could mean for me. With that said, this site is a mix of my own content and content suggested by LLM:s and reviewed by me.
When I first started reading up on micro habits, I was a bit skeptical — how could doing something for just a minute or two possibly change my life? But after seeing how quickly those tiny actions began stacking up into real progress, I was hooked. It doesn’t hurt that I’m a sucker for checking things off of lists. Now, I’m sharing what I’ve learned here, not just as a resource for anyone else interested in personal growth, but as a resource and reminder for myself to keep building those small daily wins.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by huge goals, you’re in the right place. Micro habits make it easier to move forward without burning out — just one push-up, one sentence written, one mindful breath at a time. Every time I hit a mini-milestone, I prove to myself that I can show up consistently. That’s where the real transformation happens: in the confidence and motivation I gain from each tiny success.
So, welcome to my journey with micro habits. I hope the growing number of resources, tips, and personal insights here help you (and me) tackle our bigger goals one small step at a time. Let’s celebrate the fact that even the smallest actions, done consistently, can change our lives in lasting, meaningful ways.
All habits by themeTips#
- Start with 2-3 habits: Don’t overload yourself. Gradually add more as you gain momentum.
- Stay Consistent: Regular practice, even if brief, leads to long-term changes in mindset and behavior. It’s better to practice 10 minutes every day than 2 hours once a week—repetition cements the skills.
- Set clear goals: Create SMART goals. Tailor the habits to your specific aim.
- Embrace Mistakes: Missteps are part of learning. The key is to review, adjust, and keep improving.
- Celebrate Progress: Reward yourself when you notice a clear improvement, like someone telling you they felt heard or supported.
- Reflect & Evolve: Notice which habits spark the most creativity or excitement, and stick with those. Feel free to replace or modify any that feel less helpful.
- Enjoy the process: Make sure to have fun. Embrace experimentation, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes.

I decided to explore micro habits in different areas of my life and group them into themes. As I disover new micro habits that might be or prove to be worthwhile for me I’ll add them to the theme where I feel they belong. Here are is the growing list of themes:
